Exclamation Help - 2.3 vB3 Enhanced Login Issue

Hi there.. I don't know how this happened because I haven't changed any settings.. But when I try to login as an admin, it accepts my password and redirects me back to the Classifieds front page.. What can I do to remedy this as I need to make some changes via Admin CP...

P.S. It doesn't only bring me back to the classified front page but it logs me out altogether.. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

If this is a vb3 integration sounds to me like you have forgotten your cookie prefix of bb

You would need to set the proper cookie settings in the mysql settings table lines 181-183

What's got me stumped is that this is an installation that you did some time ago. It's worked all along until just recently. I don't believe anything's been changed in vB or Photopost..

Something obviously has changed and you would need to go through the cookie settings and see what is not correct.

Yeah, you did it! Everything's been perfect (that's why I rather have you do it than me). Just something's happened and I can't figure it out - why I can't login. I try IE and Firefox, I've deleted cookies.. I just can't get in and I can't figure out why.. Maybe after I'm upgraded it'll work again...

Wait. You're logging in as an admin and it's working? Or you're logging in as a member? Because I can login as a member (I even see the Admin link) but after I click the link and enter my login information for the Admin CP, I just get logged-out and taken back to the Classifieds front page as a guest...

If you're getting in as an ADMIN, then it must be me.......

Again, I have no problem logging in as an admin for Photopost so my settings can't be wrong (cookies, etc). Right?

Check cookie settings in the Classifieds script or vB? The vbLicence number hasn't changed.. I'll be putting in for the upgrade soon and I'm sure you'll see something that I'm missing...

Both you need to compare how they are set in both programs they need to match and the vblicense number not customer number needs to be in the config

Okay, something's really strange.. I just went into the config file and my vB license number wasn't in there.. How did that happen? Is this something that you don't put in when you upgrade people? Or did it somehow get overwritten by me without realizing it.. I'm confused.. Anyway, I entered the number in and atleast now I don't get logged-out.. I stay logged-in but I still don't get to the control panel.. Let me continue looking...

It looks like cookies are set right. It's set the same as my Photopost installation.. I deleted my cookies and relogged in and that didn't help.. Any ideas for a next step?

Thanks...

I dont set anything different usually when I upgrade people unless I see something off the wall.

If you cant get into admin your cookies are not set right. Is the bb entered as the prefix in photopost for the cookie prefix? Most people forget that as the vb cookie prefix is set in the vb config file not cookie settings.

I need to add a section without having access to the Admin CP

Is there any way to do this? If anyone can show me how to add a category via some type of SQL command in phpMyAdmin, I'd appreciate it.. I can't do an upgrade or have my setup repaired right now but I need to get a category added...

I dont quite understand you dont want to repair your install and set cookies right?

You can add a category by using phpmyadmin and the you would need to create the directory under the data directory with the numeric id of the new cat and make it 777

Unfortunately, I just don't have the funds right now. Believe me, I want to have the script fixed. Do you take IOUs? I just upgraded to a new server and it's got me tapped out completely. That and my wedding is on the 26th and I still haven't made my final payment (yes, I'm paying for it myself).

http://www.cadillacforums.com/cadillac-classifieds/

What I'm looking to do is put a new section just beneath Sarant Cadillac. It would be the same thing. A "forum" sorta speak..

What I am saying is you can check things yourself

Make sure in VB your cookies are set to this

cookie path /

cookie domain .cadillacforums.com

Make sure photopost is set as this

cookie path /

cookie domain .cadillacforums.com

cookie prefix bb

vblicense number in photopost config-inc.php file needs to be set to license number not customer number. You can find this at top if most vb files. Look at your config file

Your login looks integrated to me but if you keep getting a loop in admin trying to get in there it usually means you have forgotten to specify the vbulletin cookie prefix in photopost in your case bb

You can change these values in the settings table settings 171-173
