Text problem with adds(FIXED)

Hi all.
I had this in another thread but it was a side comment so reposting.

When anyone uses the symbol

'

in their add text and submits it the add end up with

/'

For example......putting in the word it's will get you it/'s

This was discussed briefly previously and some templates altered. I went back and deleted the offending text, re-entering it however no difference.

Any thoughts?

Hi.
When the advertiser types the description into the main advert box, if they type:

the car's in top condition and come's with fat toon's

Once they hit the submit add button it returns them to the advert. They then see:

the car/'s in top condition and come/'s with fat toon/'s

Its not a major issue but somethings not right. I can put in a test add if you wish as I'm currently removing the punctuation from user adds to keep the board looking clean.

In image-inc.php find this and remove the lines in bold

$ititle = urldecode( $title );
$ititle = addslashes( $ititle );
$idesc = urldecode( $desc );
$idesc = addslashes( $idesc );

I have the following lines in my file.

if ( empty($title) ) $title = $filenoext;
$ititle = urldecode( $title );
$idesc = urldecode( $desc );
$iuser = addslashes( $User['username'] );
$ipaddr = findenv("REMOTE_ADDR");

2.4.1 of should have addslashes removed and I dont get / when I enter text with slashes.

OK....I'll check the file as I'm running 2.41.

I still cant get the text editor working (iwith the integration on) so there's a couple of strange things happening, however I feel its settings as oppsed to your software.

Hi Chuck.
I downloaded V2.41 on Tuesday 12th (7.47 PM). It has the lines as I've entered them above. I'll go back and check to see if there's a newer version but it may be worth checking the download if the above lines arent current as thats what people are pulling down.

In image-inc.php I still show addslashes in there and has not been fixed so remove them and I will email the developer again to remove them

I removed the two lines with addslash and it appears to work fine.

No problem ya had me going telling me your file was like that I posted and you still had slashes there

Nah. The lines were slightly different (as I posted above) but I removed the addslash lines and everythings fine.
