| "Wanted" doesn't give categories as option in Step 2...
If you select the Wanted template when submitting an ad, then in the 2nd step it doesn't give you any categories/subcats to select. In both the parent and childs I have For Sale and Wanted available. For Sale works fine.
Thanks,
rob

you have to set a Wanted category in your admincp to have this feature enabled in the uploadproduct.php script... the system will only display the categories that are set as Wanted, but you have to create at least one to have them displayed.

OK, why can't the user choose between the For Sale or Wanted template within one category? Why even have them select For Sale or Wanted in Step 1 if so?

this is filtering logically:
1- you select what kind of Ads you want to send, and
2- you choose in what category...
each category is configured in a specific type, you know that if you admin your site (if you don't, why ask!)...
the script will not display categories that are not in the selected type... so if a category is not set as Wanted, it will not show in step 2... this is a classified script, so each category have to be of a specific type, not receiving all kind of ads.. (this is logical, used everywhere that way)...

Yep Nexia is correct.
If you do not have any categories using wanted templates in ad types in admin section unclick it as an allowed ad type then it wont show in step 1

OK, now you've told me the design, but I don't agree. If I have a category for "Ferrari V-12's", then I want to be able to have users post "For Sale" and "Wanted" ads in the same place. That's it.

Okay well that is not how the software is designed.

rob, just create main categories with sub-categories of each type in them...
remember that not all the softwares are requests-based... you can't have all the features you wish to have only because you need them designed that way... (or i would have a software that send me cash when someone visit my site!)...

(or i would have a software that send me cash when someone visit my site!)... | The software should be designed with a logical flow as in how you would do things in the real world. Which is not how a lot of programmers think. For instance, if s developer is writting accounting software and don't get input from the accountant, it's going to be wrong, period. If they are going to develop something, it better be to spec so that the software can be used intuitively. The user doesn't have to think about how the software is designed, it should function the way the user expects it to. plain and simple.
