Currency problem

I've noticed since B5 and now with full release 2, that my currency symbol is showing 2 symbols. See attached screenshot. It's possibly due to the fact I moved the site to a new server which is USA based (and I'm UK based). Any ideas on how to fix it?

The actual layout is perfect. Additionally any £ (UKPound Sign) outside the classifieds is fine - for instance a comment posted in Photopost Pro or in vBulletin. Additionally if I post a comment on a Classifieds item and use the £ sign, it's fine there. It's only in the advert itself.

I've added a new advert after upgrading from B5 to Release 2. Additionally I've re-uploaded all the php files, templates and language files (just in case I missed one during beta updates).

OK - I fixed it by changing the currency directly in the database to £. When I go back to admin settings, it shows the currency as '?' instead of '£' but in the actual adverts, the £ is now correct.

Sorry, should have tried checking the database directly first (sometimes the obvious things escape you even after 23 years in computing).

No problem, Chris. I wonder if its an encoding issue when its saved via the control panel and would resaving the options break it?

It is an encoding problem - yes, resubmitting the options without changing them gives the following: �145.00 (so £ via database, becomes ? via admin options which when resubmitted become �).

Okay, I probably have to encode or decode the variable somehow, so will do some checking.
