Issue with Logins

Ok I have my site finally setup and live using Vbulletin and PP Classifieds. Now I have run into some issues with logins on PP Classifieds.

First I have a question, if the user is logged into VB3 is it suppose to automatically log them into PP Classifieds when they enter my classified section. Right now its not doing this.

Second I have my cookies set just like the VB3 intergration FAQ suggest but I have one issue with doing it that way. If a user goes to my site http://redtailboa.net then later decides to click on a link that points to www.redtailboa.net they do not show up as logged in on the www side...even though its the same site. Now I can get around this by setting the cookie domain to be .redtailboa.net but when I do that PP Classifieds decides to also not automatically log my members in.

Anyone care to chime in on the best way to setup both VB3 and PP Classifieds cookies in the manner I describe above. My understanding was that it would automatically log my members in, but so far it is not. Sure I can figure out on my own that I need to login into the classified section, but alot of my members are complete internet newbies and will get confused on doing this.

Well as long as both programs are set to .reftailboa.net it should be okay.

However I never suggest installing a forum on say domain.com and classifieds on www.domain.com. Why would someone do that?

If your logins are not integrated then you need to recheck your cookie settings as this is ALWAYS COOKIES

VB3

cookie_domain = .redtailboa.net
cookie_path = /

Classifieds

cookie_domain = .redtailboa.net
cookie_path = /
cookie_prefix = bb
VB License entered in config file NOT CUSTOMER NUMBER

If the following is followed you should be integrated

I
I have no idea why anyone would do that lol. I certaintly did not mean to say I did. I was however letting people know that if one of my members goes to www.redtailboa.net then later redtailboa.net that vb3 is treating that as seperate cookies. www.redtailboa.net is setup in apache as a alias to redtailboa.net.

Hence why I said that if I set my cookie domain to be .redtailboa.net on VB3. When I do this I get around the seperate cookies for redtailboa.net and www.redtailboa.net....however when I make that setting in VB3 and PP Classifieds I do not get auto logins. Each time my members WHO ARE LOGGED into VB3 go to the classifieds, they have to login into the classifieds manually.
