Imagecreatefromgif() error

Hi,

I'm experiencing the following problem:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: imagecreatefromgif() in /home/web/nissanforums.com/classifieds/image-inc.php on line 103

Thumbnail generator is set to GD1 and "acceptable image file types" is set to ".jpg,.jpeg,.png". Why is it trying to process a GIF file? Shouldn't it just reject the file?

This is with version 1.8.1.

Nope that error is true

basically the image you are trying to upload is a gif although it may be named elsewise. The header of an image file can not lie The image information is enclosed so that file needs to be converted to a true jpg if you want to upload it

I understand the error is true. The issue is under the options I'm only permitting JPG and PNG files to be uploaded. If a GIF file is uploaded when posting an ad with the GIF extension, uploadproduct.php still tries to process the file. Shouldn't it be rejected?
