Problems with search page (search.php)

I'll start with the URL: http://www.onlyclay.com/search.php cause I know you'll want to see it first hand. The keyword section seems to work fine. But search by user name brings up everything. And the catagories seem to be missing, unless I'm missing something. Ver. = 1.8c (I think). I was one of those that did selective file replacement to get to 1.8 as I recall. My current search.php has a date of june 17 at about 23:00.

Thank you.

Jerry

Hmm... The catagories are there now, but search still ignores the selection.

Well...1.8.1 sorta fixed it.

Here are the remaining issures:

Catagories are only listed when the user is logged in. So unregistered users still only see "All catagories" on the search page.

If a user has more than a page worth of listings, searching by user works for the first page, but the second and subsequent pages show items from all users.

Sorry, still needs more work.

All Categories is a default setting - which loosely translated means "all categories you have permission for".

I'll check into the multiple pages for a user result, although I'm not sure I have any that have that many listings.

Michael,

You can see the issue at my site. Do a search on JerryM user. The site is http://www.onlyclay.com You will notice the first page is all my stuff, but the second and subsequent pages are all users.

Thanks,

Jerry

http://www.onlyclay.com/index.php

Did you modify the index template or something? That last column shouldn't be there (or looks like two columns are blank).

Thanks for the reference, I can see the problem and will look into it further.

Try this,

line 861 in pp-inc.php should read (changes in bold):

$posternav .= "<a href=\"{$Globals['maindir']}/$whoami.php?cat=$cat&amp;si=$si&amp;page=1&amp;sort=$sortparam&amp;perpage=$perpage&amp;password=$password&amp;ppuser=$ppuser&amp;what=$what&amp;name=$name&amp;$whenterm=$whenterm&amp;sl=$sl\">1</a> ... ";

line 872 should read:

$posternav .= "<a href=\"{$Globals['maindir']}/$whoami.php?cat=$cat&amp;si=$si&amp;page=$p&amp;sort=$sortparam&amp;perpage=$perpage&amp;ppuser=$ppuser&amp;what=$what&amp;name=$name&amp;$whenterm=$whenterm&amp;sl=$sl\">$thispage</a>";

line 880 should read:

$posternav .= " ... <a href=\"{$Globals['maindir']}/$whoami.php?cat=$cat&amp;si=$si&amp;page=$pages&amp;sort=$sortparam&amp;perpage=$perpage&amp;ppuser=$ppuser&amp;what=$what&amp;name=$name&amp;$whenterm=$whenterm&amp;sl=$sl\">$pages</a>";
