Items that are SOLD are not being removed

I've set the admin option so that SOLD ads are removed after 1 day. They are not being removed - they still show up in the category listings. Why?

Are you running the cronjob (sendnotice.php) to remove them and send out renewal notices? There's a sticky in the install area.

So sendnotice.php expires the old ads, but does it remove the SOLD items as well? By looking at the code, I don't see it.
