| Clicking on keywords returns unexpected results
When clicking on a keyword that a photo is tagged with, any photo that had a word with the keyword contained in it is also returned. For example, if you click on the keyword "cat", images with vacation, alcatraz, and ducati are returned.
Is there a way to turn on whole words on keyword searches?

ah, nevermind, figured it out. Edited template adv_gallery_showimage_keywordbit to add marchwholeword=1 Code: Content visible to verified customers only.

Actually, that is only returning results with "cat" in pagetext - I guess matchwholecase doesn't apply to quicksearch. hrm

If I don't use quicksearch, I have to put in what categories I want in the url - what do I use for all categories? catid= ?

Yes quick search may not have all the features of the full search that is true about either gallery product we release.

why are you trying to do some url thing?
Our searches are done through a post action on the form on your actual site. I explained that any quicksearch box may not have all options the normal page would but either of those searches are done through the site page. I am confused now as your posting in a bug forum and I am not seeing an issue to respond to here because you keep asking about how to forumate some type of search url outside the normal parameters of the search engine. Please clarify here.

I originally posted this as a bug because, like the title says, clicking on a keyword returns unexpected results. There's really no reason for the system to return results of words within words.
So, I'm trying to resolve the problem by changing the parameters contained in adv_gallery_showimage_keywordbit without rewriting the code in search.php

I would have to see how vbgallery is suppose to work. I know most any search could provide any instance it finds of say dog or cat or whichever in any fields specified.

I understand that there would be cases for search that you would want words within words (vbulletin handles that with wildcards vs vbgallery's straight up 'contains' match), but in the case of keywords/tags, words within words should definitely not be used.
In my case this was brought about because members were getting confused by the results. I investigated.

I will pass along your comments to that products specific developer so he can think about if he would want to handle things differently.
Photopost handles searchs the same way so it is not a bug. Basically I think the case is in a gallery they want all possible results returned so like I know there was a photo on charlie chaplin here on our site in Pro.
I enter chap and it returns any results with phrase chap. Search - PhotoPost Photo Gallery |

It looks like it handles keywords differently though... PhotoPost Photo Gallery - Edit: I guess it doesn't, nevermind |

Yep how we handle keywords and searches is how I have explained. There is not a bug.
