Sidebar Colors

Just wondering if using the sidebar stylevars can be considered for an upcoming release.

I dared to create a style with a dark sidebar, so, text is clear. Now, on vbG the sidebar considers different variables and it takes clear colors, in the end, it can't be read.

Hope I was able to express myself

Have you tried reinstalling the templates etc from the install menu of vbGallery not sure if that will help or not. vbGallery has specific style colors it takes from the parent style.

You can place any suggestions you wish under the vbgallery suggestions forum. vbGallery though looks great in any custom style situation I have seen so I wonder how much of this has to do with the color editing after installation.

Don't know, would expect vbG to use vB's sidebar variables, those changed some time ago and doesn't seem to be updated in vbGallery.

vbgallery actually uses alot of its own CSS. Comparing different templates in different areas using different classes is not going to work. The vbulletin sidebar has nothing to do with the information panel on the sidebar. They use completely different templating.

You would have to view your page source to find the relevant css classes. For example that is the style I see when looking at your vbgallery the info bar with the yellow background maybe look at your vbulletin blockbody or blockrow classes are they yellow background? You would change whatever color to the one you wish.

The vbgallery css file can be found under the vbgallery templates and you know where vbulletin style manager is. This is definately related to your custom style. We can only remap colors the best we can since we work against a default vb style to match colors. Custom styles may have completely different mapping which could lead to different results.

OK, will take a look, but it would be nice if it uses the same sidebar variables as the forums, in the end they are meant to work together.

Thanks

well remember nothing is absolute. You really can not completely use forum classes throughout the products because the vb4 classes are so extensively used to precisely display forum content you must create your own. At any rate like I said custom styles bring there own problems into the mix. We can only develop the product to work with the vb product as released by vbulletin. Hacks plugins custom styles etc they all can and sometimes cause issues. I doubt if you switched to the default vb style you would see any issue.
