Link to last comment problem

Hi,

I tried to go to last comment post by the last post link of a Member Album in Members' Albums category (imported from vb4 albums), this is what I get:

mywebsite/gallery/showimage.php?goto=lastpost&p=

So I got image does not exist warning. I would expect p=1337 (image number). Is there something I can do to fix it?

Edit: This problem only occurred in Members Category, not other types.

Hello, anyone home!

I will see if I can get hold of Luciano.

Any update on this issue? I've noticed the same behaviour.

Chuck S May 5th, 2011 07:08 AM

The issue is not a support issue. If you used some alpha or beta import script which is not supported and that script may not import or align things correctly it would not be an issue for vbgallery it is an issue with that importer.

i think this will help you.

Sorry to bring this up again, but still I havent been able to find out whats causing the issue.

Has anyone else mentioned this to you? Maybe something went wrong in the installation but I'm at a loss where to look or what to do as I don't want to fiddle and screw things up completely.

So any ideas would be appreciated..

Thanks

I am seeing no issue here. The default application seems to work without issue. The problem I beleive being discussed here was with using some alpha beta import script to import content into vbgallery. We do not provide support for such scripts or issues they would cause.

bolo July 8th, 2011 08:36 AM

I havent used any beta software, just the official software I purchased.

The difference between my situation and a vanilla board with the gallery installed is that, the board was upgraded to VB4, and then the gallery was installed.

Here is an example of the link to last comment.

Can you spot any missing parameter or is that as it should be?

Thanks

where is your link being displayed. This discussion in this thread the users issue was he was having an issue after importing photos and comments from the vbalbums using some alpha or beta script and I beleive that is what caused his issue.

I have a clean vbGallery installed with vb 4.14 and everything appears fine to me when I test any links so I need to know more info about your issue.

You can check yourself my test site appears operational.

Are they your tanks on there Chuck? If so very nice, I'd love to have a good aquarium one day...

But back to the matter.. The links are on the main gallery page which lists the different categorys. The link to the last comment post being the problematic link.

I noticed on yours the link structure is very different, it appears you have Search engine friendly urls. is that vbGallery or an SEO component generating those?

Chuck S July 8th, 2011 01:20 PM

I do not see anything seo about that comment link in vbag.

Gallery Message - PhotoPost vBGallery

You need to view the comment link there. vbag is only a test site no one knows about on that site. I use Pro which is probally what you where viewing which has SEO urls. vbgallery does not.

The last comment link in vbgallery is this and appears to work fine

Gallery Message - PhotoPost vBGallery

The link is exact same structure as mine, so that rules that out then.

If I re-install vbGallery, is there any chance of losing my current photos?

Chuck S July 8th, 2011 01:25 PM

If you uninstall and reinstall yes you will lose things.

You can run the install and use the reimport phrases templates and plugins options to see if that helps and also make sure all your files are current and correct.

I've just spotted the issue.. haven't fixed it yet, I must have missed a setting somewhere but basically the gallery directory is nto being added to the URLs.. so instead of what should be :

/cat-photos/showimage.php?i=810&c=4#post829

I have

/showimage.php?i=810&c=4#post829

No wonder its 404'ing

Chuck S July 8th, 2011 02:32 PM

yes providing a url to your site I would have been able to diagnose any issue alot quicker. This should assist you

bolo July 8th, 2011 03:39 PM

Ahh indeed it was the missing - $vbulletin->options['bburl_basepath'] = 0;

Thanks

Chuck S July 8th, 2011 04:09 PM

Yep that turns off that baseurl thing which sets all urls to your forum ;)
