All the thumbnails are the same for a given file type

Whenever we upload, either from a user folder, or from the (choose file...) buttons, all the thumbnails in a category turn into the thumbnail for the last picture of the same image type.

Chuck has our details from the upgrade and can reproduce the fault at:
test - Image Gallery
Feel free to create a fresh category for testing as well.

Whup, nevermind. I found what should be the fix here:
Photoupload works but wrong Thumbs ?!? _thumb.jpg

It seems that the code in vBGallery 2.5.1 is not following the documented syntax for substr since (reportedly) sometime in php4. With php5.3.1 php apparently expects the function to be called as documented or it no longer works.

Assuming this is accurate, will this error be fixed in 2.5.2?

Thanks Chuck, for the time being, since we have 3.8.5, I just make Luciano's alterations to the php statements that are now being strictly held to their documentation and the thumbnails 'all the same' feature is no more.

I don't have a similar fix to the 'originals are all the same' feature, but only the admins should see those anyway, and we can, I think, get by for the moment.

Are you saying on your install originals are all the same?
I only seen the problem with thumbs...

This just started happening to my site. Not sure what changed. All the thumbnails are the same for a user (looks like the first picture the uploaded) but the actual pictures are correct when displayed. I'm running vBulletin 3.8.6, vBGallery 2.5 and PHP 5.3.6.

What's the easiest approach to resolve.

Nick...
