picture comment "private notification" only works for admin?

Ok, when someone comments on my picture i get a PM notification, but none of the members on my forums get it? I have looked everywhere for a setting to adjust that, and found no info online... Is it a bug or a setting i just annot find??

They would need to subscribe to the category under category tools or or elect to recieve updates about the photo under image tools when viewing the image.

Ahh i see. where would it be for them to elect to receive these updates, and is there an option to make that default, and then have them have an option to disable instead? Or at least set all current members to receive the notifications? I want my members to be just as active in the gallery as they are in on the forums.

Thanks for the quick reply chuck.

There is no option for it to be default. I explained above how they enable it. What about my reply did you not understand?

No you can not. They need to actually subscribe. It requires them to click a link.

Thats something different than what your asking. you by default would recieve notifications on your own photos. You are asking how others would be notified of comments on photos that are not theres.

lol, sorry for the misunderstanding... that is actually what i am trying to do... When someone comments on my images i get a notification.... but when i tried testing by replying to an image of a dummy account, that user did not receive a notification of a commented image. (and i did check, the comment went through and i was able to view it with that account)

Additional Options

Receive Email Updates (receive email alerts when others comment on your photos)

It is definately in the upload template

No way to make it default unless say you alter the upload template and add checked="checked" to the actual checkbox code in the template I suppose.
