Avatars not displaying

See this topic thread for some background:

http://www.photopost.com/forum/class...g-returns.html

Evidently vbgallery has a similar problem in that avatars are not displaying.

Is there a known fix?

KenDude July 28th, 2008 12:55 AM

Zach, Chuck, any news?

Chuck S July 28th, 2008 09:26 AM

well are you electing to show avatars no one has reported any issues in vbgallery with avatars.

It would be interesting to see the admin settings.

i do have the same problem. avatar isn't displayed for some users. i have no clue why. no special usergroup whatsoever, and in the forum it works.

and it has been an error in photopost too, we just upgraded to vbgallery 2.4.3.

i cant find any permission settings to disable showing the avatar nor any other setting affecting the avatar.

and ive posted a few other bugs since weeks. when will a new version or patch be released? i didnt even get an answer on my error reports or with huge delay.

seriously, your customer service and bugfixing needs improvement. this isnt what im expectng from a comercial product. even the open-scource plugins i use have a better support.

What do you mean its shown for some and not others? How about posting urls links etc so that we could see the difference and be able to assist.

Chuck,
If you or Zach need access to my admincp I'm happy to provide it, just PM me on the CaymanClub.Net site letting me know what account you are using to visit and I'll grant the access rights.

KenDude August 5th, 2008 12:43 AM

I just responded to your picture comment Chuck, as you can see your avatar doesn't show up and neither does mine, or even my signature pic.

Chuck S August 5th, 2008 07:42 AM

Sure you can send admin access

KenDude August 5th, 2008 10:52 PM

Ok Chuck you should have plenty of access to do whatever it is you need to do to check it out, but honestly, it looks like the same issue that the Classifieds and ReviewPost had until I posted that fix although the code for vbgallery is a little different in the lingo it uses to display avatars.

Chuck S August 6th, 2008 08:33 AM

Actually I dont know if it is in email heavan or not. I dont have any emails on this issue.

I am not really a vbgallery technician although in the past week I have fixed 3 out of 4 old bugs of Zach's in vbGallery but I am still awaiting access to look at this one.

What email would you have sent this from so I can search our records to see what emails you have sent us?

KenDude August 6th, 2008 08:45 PM

Chuck
I assume you are talking to aibon about email?

You have access to the admin panel and all necessary permissions on The Cayman Club to try and troubleshoot this avatar problem, if you need ftp access as well let me know and I can PM you that information on the caymanclub.net site since I cannot PM you here.

Chuck S August 6th, 2008 09:09 PM

You can send any info you wish to support at photopost dot com

I was talking to you actually. I am not familiar with your site and stated you could send me info to look. I am not the expect here for vbgallery but I have been able to fix 3 long standing vbGallery bugs in a relatively short period of time lately ;)

this is just ridiculous... the support for vbgallery is the worst i have ever seen and now youre admitting it. nice, can i please have my money back.

Chuck S August 8th, 2008 11:44 AM

Actually if we are given information to assist someone support goes very fast and that is exactly what I have said so your misunderstanding something here. If someone just comes here and says I have a problem but does not post any info about there site support can take a long long time because one does not have anything to give support.

Should you have license questions you may contact sales please read this first

Chuck,

You already have an account on my site - The Cayman Club Last week I went in and made you an administrator and gave you administrative rights to "try" to troubleshoot this avatar problem. What more are you waiting on from me?

Thanks!
Ken

BTW the instant email notification of when you reply to this topic thread is not working, I have to manually remember to come back here and check this topic thread. :)

Chuck S August 12th, 2008 10:05 AM

Whatever login that is I can not login the password is not valid. If we have had prior discussion let me know the email you would be sending from so I can relook at the discussion and details. I deal with so many issues daily I do not remember site details for every site.

KenDude August 12th, 2008 10:29 AM

Chuck,
You could have requested the site send you a new password with the forgot password link in vbulletin. I went ahead and reset the password for you and I just sent you an email to your comcast account with the details. Will that suffice?

Chuck S August 12th, 2008 10:33 AM

Okay do I have ftp access etc all that under any emails you have priorly sent?

KenDude August 12th, 2008 10:39 AM

I will email you ftp access as well as long as you promise not to muck anything up. :)

Chuck S August 12th, 2008 10:40 AM

I just want to see your settings ;)
