Trouble Resizing Thumbnails + Permission Bug

I am trying to resize all 120 thumbnails from 220 pixels to 180 pixels wide, and keep getting stuck when it gets to a specific file (the 16th thumbnail of the 120 I need to resize).

I went into my FTP client and noticed the permissions weren't 777 on some pictures, I am 99% sure that they are the pictures that have been rotated by the vbGallery script, so that's the first bug I'm reporting: When editing pictures, the permissions get screwed up. In fact, I couldn't even chmod via the FTP client, I had to SSH in and sudo the chmod to get it to change to 777.

Now on to the problem of getting stuck...

I did a sudo chmod 777 files -R, and I confirmed that every single file in the files folder is 777.

Yet, I still get stuck on the exact same file.

I renamed the file that it's getting stuck on, as well as the file that will be processed next, and changed the file names in the Database to make sure everything matches up.

Still getting stuck on that one file.

I downloaded the file and made sure it's viewable, so it's not corrupted. It's displaying in the vbGallery just fine and I can view it on my PC too.

So I am baffled. I have no idea why it keeps getting stuck. I have even downloaded the pictures in question and re-saved them in PhotoShop to make sure they're not screwed up somehow. No luck.

Help!? I did a search on this forum and it seems I'm not the only one experiencing this issue, but the threads on it all had 0 responses.

That should not be a problem.

- I have seen the process stop on a corrupt image.
(the original image displayed but stopped 1/2 way through the rendering and 1/2 the image was not there.) This file was not able to generate a thumbnail.

Once I removed / replaced the image, all was OK in thumbnail rebuild.

Another thing you might try is to delete the thumbnail for the photo that is stopping the rebuild process.
