HELP! .php3 extension

I'm trying to install photopost for one of our clients vbullitin3.5 site. However the install fails. In our clients version of vbullitin all the php scripts have a .php3 extensions which is, I assume why the installer fails. Is there a version of photopost that installs with .php3 files or should I re-install vbullitin with .php files?

any suggestions please let me know.
