Thumbnails File size VERY large (unnecessary exif info)

I have my gallery now set to use ImageMagick. Thumbnail quality is set very low. Most thumbnails come out to 1-3K, however I have discovered many new ones coming out to between 10 and 35K . Upon examining these small thumbs, it turns out they contain a huge amount of EXIF information. I understand that it is possible for ImageMagick and GD to strip the EXIF information from thumbs. Perhaps that was standard behavior for GD and not ImageMagick (which I have just switched to).

It's a simple switch I believe to have ImageMagick strip the EXIF info from thumbs, and I think it would be a very good idea.

Thanks

Zach', check the forums... I *think* this came up before but can't remember the resolution.

If you find anything on this, please post a patch here so I can test it out for you (even before a new release).

Thanks!

I've confirmed that this only happens when ImageMagick is used. GD2 Seems to strip the extra EXIF information from thumbs (which makes a huge difference in file size).

VB Gallery really should use mogrify instead of convert.

VB Gallery really should use mogrify instead of convert in functions_gallery_imagedit.php
