Resizing issues-

Scenario:
-Edit file types, for .jpg, set to 4mb filesize, max width 800 max height 600.
-Modify settings of vbaGallery are set to keep original and have original open in new window.
-Upload a .jpg dimensions 3072x2048 size 1.84mb
-Edit file types, for .jpg, set to 4mb filesize, max width 1024 max height 768
-Maintenance area, rebuild normal file size, check to see what the normal files in the showimage page are and they are now 1024x683 (this is the correct size). The original images are still set to 3072x2048, THAT IS WHAT I WANTED.
-Edit file types, for .jpg, set to 4mb filesize, max width 640 max height 480
-Maintenance area, rebuild normal file size, check to see what the normal files in the showimage page are and they are now 640x400 (this is the correct size).
***At this point my original images have been resized to dimensions 1024x683- filesize 62.44kb, the size of the largest resize I've done in the maintenance area (BUT NOT THE SIZE OF MY ORIGINAL UPLOAD), what happened to my originals, they are no longer even on the server?!?!! Instead anything with the 'original' extension is now resized

I need this to be fixed ASAP- as I have a need to change my file sizes at least this many times while I configure gallery, and at the same time I need to PRESERVE THE ORIGINAL FILES!!!!

I'm using GD2

I've submitted a support ticket for another issue, so you can troubleshoot this one as well with that information...

I've mentioned this before in another thread, beleive it was in pre-sales (I was scared the resize options would be limited)

Options needed in the maintenance area are:
Resize intermediate to this size (option to select size here-this is separate from the upload size requirements you set in the edit file type are for the original files-the way it should be)
Resize thumbnail to this size
Resize original to this size
Backup Original to local drive!!!!!!!

Options to set in the edit filetypes area:
On upload create intermediate at this size

Re: Resizing issues-

Anyone else having a problem with this?

Brian, is this how the software is supposed to "act"---(changing the original files?)

If not, should I create a support ticket?

Re: Resizing issues-

Looks like there's a small bug with the image resizing tool. If you'll look in your forum/admincp/vba_gallery_admin.php file for this code:
Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
Replace with this:
Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
And that should take care of the problem.

Re: Resizing issues-

Hi Brian,

I have a kind of similar issue with version 1.0.1 (vb3.5).
I tried your fix, and it seemed to be work in the beginning... but it failed in the end.

Initially, it takes some time for the pages to refresh... but after the first failure in resizing an image, all the following pages start to refresh very fast, and do not process/resize the other images properly.

I have "Save Original Files" set to No.
Do you have a fix for this? Or have an idea about that might help?
