RC4 Bug? Change File Storage Method

Okay just bought vBa Gallery, a bit confusing setup, bit finally got it up and running...

anyhow, I noticed this, and I'm not sure if its intentional or its a bug:

Anytime I got vBa Gallery > Modify Settings, and I modify any settings, and save, I would have to go back to Maintence and reenable Change File Storage Method.

It appears anytime I save under Modify Settings it reverts Change File Storage Method to the default setting, Off.

Bug?

Second Bug?

After doing the above, and resetting the File Storage Method, all images are broken. :-X....

Personally I would not mess with the "Change File Storge Method" option. SOme people had had some bad experiences.

Re: RC4 Bug? Change File Storage Method

For anyone that's having a problem with the safe mode option being reset, please look in your /forum/admincp/vba_gallery_admin.php file for this code:
Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
Replace with this:
Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
And that should take care of the problem.

Anyone that's having a problem with their images being broken due to this, please submit a support ticket and I will get them sorted out for you.

Re: RC4 Bug? Change File Storage Method

geeeez.... this change file storage thing just messed up my media files.

reverting the process ended in something weird. the files were NOT moved back, so still broken link. a second run gave me the pathes back in the database. and the files were still named like without pathes.

so now i have: http://www.pbportal.de/media-files/9...PG&c=newimages

but i was able to move everything back in place. so no damage.

does the above change cure this?

btw: this &c= and other things trailing the filename prevent all code from functioning.. img, bb, html ... any way to get rid of this?

Re: RC4 Bug? Change File Storage Method

I apologize I posted this in another topic releating to this.

If I make the above change, will that move my images back to their orginial location?

I changed the file store method and it moved all files from their correct directories to the /gallery/files directory.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Re: RC4 Bug? Change File Storage Method

ugr|dual - If you check in this forum there is a thread with the fix for that posted.

clearchannel - The above change prevents the safemode setting from being turned back off when you modify your settings. It does not move your files.

Re: RC4 Bug? Change File Storage Method

Is that to say I have to manually move all the files back to the proper directories?

If so, is there an easier way to accomplish the task?

I still have your support ticket open, so I went ahead and applied the fix and got your images moved back into their proper directories for you.

Re: RC4 Bug? Change File Storage Method

I figured it out. I had to Rebuild Image Info I choose the default All Catagories, yet I had to do each one indivudually.

Is this normal behavior?

Thank you, I guess we were working on it at the same time. I appericate the assistance.

Re: RC4 Bug? Change File Storage Method

Shouldn't be... Are you sure you weren't trying that while I was moving the images?

Re: RC4 Bug? Change File Storage Method

I was working on moving the images. I had no idea you were working on it at the same time.

My problem is now I've lost the members gallery. I have no idea how it was deleted.

Is there any way to get that catagory back?
