Alert: The gallery is currently turned off!

I have found that when I turn off the Gallery, the message "Alert: The gallery is currently turned off!" is sometimes on the top of the page and sometimes not. It also appears to have turned nothing off - everything works.

you are the admin so you can see it. log out as admin and try logging in as a guest and you won't be able to see it.

I did log out. I also tried it as a registered user.

Gotta love simple mistakes like that. If you'll look in your gallery_global.php file for this code:

Code:

Content visible to verified customers only.

And remove the '!' mark from the front of there then that should solve the problem of people still being able to see the gallery.
What page(s) exactly do you not see that notice at the top of?

After seeing the notice on the Gallery home page, the notice went away when clicking on a subscriber's category and all images showed just fine. (Guest, Registered or Admin)
