| A couple of questions...
1. Can Photopost be used as a method to collect information (prior to viewing photos), through the registration process such as email, phone, etc.
2. Does Photopost have the ability to sell digital prints?
3. Can Photopost be integrated with a service such as Snapfish to sell prints to customers?

1. there is no phone field on registration. emails are a natural part of registration sure.
2. our gallery is just that a community gallery product there is no specific shopping cart feature to it.
3. That would depend on what answer you get from Snapfish I am not familiar with that service but our templates are html and you may edit what you like but I assume that provided you enter the proper coding that answer would be yes.

Would Photopost be able to assist me in a dialogue with a provider such as Snapfish, Shutterfly, etc.?

Not too sure what you mean here. I mean we do not support code modifications so if you wanted to modify code you would need to do so outside the normal parameters of the program and support.
We do offer custom solutions for an additional $70.00 an hour if your trying to have someone code something for you from our company but I think your really needing an api for snapfish which is outside our code so there is not much we could code for you under those terms.
My personal suggestion is you simply contact snapfish see what api's they have and I assume what your looking for is some type of way to pass some type of photo data to them.
I do not know too much about snapfish but I can definately say your limits are going to be from snapfish rules and terms here. We can not make there software do something it is not suppose to do. If snapfish can only show and print photos through there service then you cant use them to print from photopost. This is one of the biggest reasons we have never added a true print function to our software is the inability of any printing service to integrate.
The service you use would have to allow some type of html form to sent data to them so they can print a photo like the url to the photo, the title, your snapfish account info etc. You can ask snapfish about my last sentence here that should help you open a dialog with them on what your trying to do.

well go back to post 4 as I at length discussed the specifics as I see it
Have you contacted that company on how there software works?
I mean are you able to place some type of html form to pass a photo url to that program or is that program requiring you to upload photos to it and its a standalone.

yeah sorry not trying to make this hard but only those companies would know how there software works. I outlined in post 4 what would need to happen for possible inclusion of a cart or printing service etc.
Example here is a site that has integrated a paypal shopping cart. The only customization to our code is the addition of an html form that passes photo data to the cart A community photo gallery - RobertGambee.com Master Gallery |

Can we include a PayPal code for people to buy photos (digital)?
I'm still working on getting information regarding the printing.

OK. So they would press the PayPal buy button, pay and then I would send them the photo? How can I protect the photo so people don't download it for free?

You can use the image protection settings in admin to protect images and yes if you place whatever paypal buy button in the showphoto template you should be taken to paypal with info etc passed for the user to pay you.

OK. Will it be protected with a watermark or a disguised URL? Also, how will I know which photo was purchased when they click the PayPal link?

when you get the code from paypal to put into your page you just need to fill in some variables like title or photo id.
That way you know what photo it is
The image protection has many features one is a path below the webroot or you can also use a watermark sure.

Excellent. Once I hear from some printers and collect all the necessary information, we'll have to discuss implementation steps. Stay tuned...
Thanks for your help!
