Is it possible to remove this frame..

Comment out this line in feature.tmpl

like so:

To get the cleaner thumbed layout, which actually looks really nice would have to take some template editing I think. Chuck would be your guru on this.. it looks nice though.. good suggestion for maybe 'thumbs only'

You can set in admin edit categories the layout to be thumbnail only and that will print just a thumbnail like you want but to get things real close you would need to alter the default code. The puzzle layout is close to the look you want also but maybe you want something in between those two looks.
