Few questions on VB Gallery

I am looking to purchase vb gallery and have a few questions.

1. I have a forum, should I get the photopost pro or vb gallery?

2. Will Vb Gallery work with vbseo, so that I can rewrite the URLS?

3. How hard is it to install/uninstall?

4. Will it work with vbulletin version 3.8.2?

5. With Vb Gallery can I have random images from the gallery displayed horizontally on the forum main page?

6. How secure is Vb Gallery against hackers, etc..? what is more secure VB Gallery or Photopost Pro?

7. When a new vbulletin comes out and I need to upgrade, how hard is it to upgrade with Vb gallery installed so not to mess anything up?

Thanks in advance.

Thats a matter of choice. I use pro others like vbgallery

PhotoPost PHP Photo Sharing Photo Gallery: Pro vs. vBGallery

2. Will Vb Gallery work with vbseo, so that I can rewrite the URLS?

No you can not rewrite urls with vbseo thats a product for vbulletin only

3. How hard is it to install/uninstall?

Installation is not hard its uploading files changing file permissions and running an install script.

4. Will it work with vbulletin version 3.8.2?

yes either one will

5. With Vb Gallery can I have random images from the gallery displayed horizontally on the forum main page?

yes with both you can

6. How secure is Vb Gallery against hackers, etc..? what is more secure VB Gallery or Photopost Pro?

either one is secure

7. When a new vbulletin comes out and I need to upgrade, how hard is it to upgrade with Vb gallery install

Same as with pro uploading new files and running some upgrades.

Pretty sure this statement is wrong.

You most certainly can use vbseo to rewrite URLS outside of just the vB product.

Regs not from what has been reported to us since that product was released. There are all kinds of threads here on vbseo.

Do you know of people doing this successfully? Examples? Would love to see it if so because this would be good news.

That would indeed be good news if vbseo did add support to rewrite photopost urls but it is contrary to the support threads here.

Example for PP Classifieds:

vBSEO Compatible Hack:Photopost Classifieds - VBSEO Wiki

There are many threads on vBSEO concerning the custom rewrite rules and vBgallery which work to a certain extent however there duplicate content issues that appear to make everyone there, erm, angry

Also, there is this:

Regs thanks thats a hack I see but is than official support for vbseo? To me it does not look like they natively support outside parties other than the vbulletin forum.

Thanks for your responses.

Now, for both the vbgallery and photopost, can I have it so that pictures uploaded are "Watermarked" with my logo?

Yes you can apply watermarking in either program. You can permanently watermark an image or use GD to do it on the fly meaning the original image is not permanently watermarked only overlayed when viewing.
