Classifieds vB 3.6.5 - I want to charge for ads - but stay out of the transactions?

Hi

I want a couple of options and I wonder if Photo post will do it.

1) I want all my forums REGISTERED MEMBERS to get credit for 5 free ads.
(when that credit runs out I want to charge a small fee via PayPal)

2) Maybe I am crazy but I feel I want to stay out of the transactions (not charge for a commission, but just charge a fee to post the ad..) is that possible?

I am having a conceptual problem understanding if people running Photo Post classifieds make money from the ADS or the ADS & SALES COMMISSIONS TOO

How do people keep from being drawn into bad trader disputes?

You stay out of the purchase aspect entirely.

The only payment you would collect is the charge you setup to post an ad on your site.

If you want to change how that works you would need to modify your code.

I cant say maybe with a vbulletin hack I dont know but there is no credit feature in our program

1) Can I make the classifies free to use? (for say 3 months?)
2) Then change over to charge a payPal fee?

You can not charge for ads if you wish sure then setup payments later

How does this work? Can you sell 10 ads for x amount of money or do you add people to a usergroups or can you do both? Does the seller collect money direct via their own paypal? Does the zip code function work for the UK?

The seller can collect money via paypal if they use the buy it now option

As far as site payment you collect the amount of money you want a user to pay to post an ad when they pay it. You set this up in admin in the category setup and usergroups setups.

Thanks for the reply. I have a few more questions if you dont mind

1) Does the seller need a business account to collect the money?
2) Would it be possible to create a shop space for sellers where they can set their own sub categories? For example a cd shop with different genres of music. Another one would be a clothes shop with mens and ladies fashions.
3) Does it support zip codes in the UK?

1. I dont run paypal so you would need to ask them but I dont think so

2. Users can not create categories

3. If you import a UK zipcode database in the format of our zipData table inserts sure

Is it possible to setup vbclassifieds but leave it invisible to regular members while sellers have access to prepare for the 'grand opening'? ... and to test ofcorse. Thanks for your replies...I'll make my mind up soon.

Photopost Classifieds is invisible until you tell people about it really but you can set permissions in admin category editor what content people can see and they will or will not be able to see anything. You can also set usergroup permissions as well on permissions
