Review Post and Zip Code feature

I need the same capability of zip code and distance in Review Post as I get in the Classifieds. It's great without it if your are reviewing products, but I want to review places. I really don't want to setup categories for every state. Even if I do that, within state, it's a mess when there are a lot of entries.

Is this possible? If it's not standard, do you think the level of effort is doable?
