| Can I have ReviewPost do this?...
Basically, i dont want any users to add products, I shall be adding all the products.
But when a user comes to write a review, I dont want them to have to sign up and fill in all the registration details.
What I would like is this:
User clicks 'Add Review'
Page loads up asking for their Name and email address.
It then asks them to fill in the image code anti spam thing.
It then asks them to write their review.
They press Add or Send, and the review is added.
Is this possible?
I wont be integrating it with the forum software, so logging in, private messages etc wont be needed.
Is this possible?
Cheers.

We don't use image stamps to verify review entry; nor do we prompt for names and emails for unregistered users. So, no, it doesn't work exactly like you have and for it to do so would require a bit of customization.

Ahhh ok, do you have any sites in action that allow Guest users to post?
I looked on the V6performance website and it requires you to register, which is something id like to avoid.
Cheers.

I haven't checked the Sites In Action sites to see which ones allow for anonymous reviews; I'm not sure which ones are setup as such.

OK I cant find anyone that has it so Guest users can post.
So what basically happens when Guests are allowed to post?
Click click 'Reply' and it takes them straight to the reply post textbox?
Could I not add 2 fields onto that page (name and email), and then make them required fields, so the review wouldnt get posted without those details completed?
Would it be as simple as that?
Cheers.

You can in reviewpost 3.3 define an unlimited number of extra fields in products and reviews to be filled in when they post a product or review.
If you allow guests to post yes they will click reply just like a user and be taken to the reply window.

So basically have Guests posting enabled, put 2 new fields at the top, make them required, and then in the actual product review page change the forum username tag (on the left hand side of the review comment) to the custom name tag i added.
Would that work?
So it would say:
John Smith | And then his review
Instead of
Unregistered User | And then his review
?
Cheers.

Well 2 notes here.
1. making the review field required would require you to modify the code.
2. modifying the reviews display to use the custom field info if present to display instead of unregistered for the name would require you to modify code.

But it would be a fairly straight forward hack wouldnt it?
Just input the new fields so they display on the review product page?
So its definately 'do-able' then? |

Anything is doable with PHP code. I would not rate it a hard hack no but it would require you to have some knowledge of PHP code.
