Photopost and VBulletin 3.54

Is Photopost compatible with VBulletin 3.54? A colleague in the IT field warned me about incompatibilty between Photopost 5.21 and VBulletin 3.54 . He tried it, but was never able to upload ONE single picture, getting the same error all the time:

There was an error uploading this photo. Please report to System Administrator.

We looked at the files they were properly uploaded (uploading) to the "uploads" folder, thumbnails were created in the "data" folder, but the pictures never made it to the final stage of being displayed. We searched the forum for this particular simptom, didn't find anything.

I'm running VB 3.54 myself, and I really need to add pictures to it, and I'm not sure which product to go with. One seems richer in features (but has a problem???), and the other (VBgallery) seems easier, and problem free with less features.

Why is the error, incompatibility?

Thanks,

Mikan

5.21 Pro should not have a problem with VB3.5x.

Pro has about 10x the features with an independent Admin area.
- It can bridge to many types of forums and go standalone. (user wise)
- Independent template and phrase system.
- will use VB styles
- Installs to a independent database or forums database

vBGallery will only work with vBulletin, but integrates/installs with AdminCP, template, and phrase system.
- Shares the forums database.

Both systems can be customized with ease.

If the problem he had was an uploading issue then it was probally due to not installing the application correctly. The uploads and data folders at every level must be chmod to 777.

Zachariah has out lined the normal differences between the applications above. Both work with VB 3.54 quite well. I would speculate Photopost works better because it is a much more robust mature product.

Thank you guys for the clarification. After further talking to my colleague I realized the issue he was having was PHP 5.1 related, some "localtime" bug..

Is this still the case? I'm running VBulletin and X-Cart on PHP 5.1 and MySQL 4.1.18, no problemos. Am I going to have problems with Photopost because of PHP 5.1?
