| Some questions
Hi all:
Actually I use SMF + coppermine, and I'm planning to switch to Photopost.
I want know if the integration with SMF is good, witch what versions of SMF works the bridge.
And, the coppermine importer works fine?
At same time, for me is important know if I can limit the uploads per day, Kbytes, and total space used (think that I want it bridged with SMF).
Is possible get a 7 days demo or something like that?
I want try bridge with my forum before purchase. Is possible?
Tnx in advantage

As Sandeep states there is no demo since this is not encrypted code. Once you have the code you have it.
Now since I wrote the SMF bridge I can tell you it works great authenticates the user and can even load the SMF style. it works with SMF 1.06 and above since they use the sha1 password encryption not the old md5_hmac that the initial SMF used.
All Photopost integrations limits uploads per day file size and total diskspace.

What do you mean you can not login?
Also we do not support the SMF 1.1 beta integration until it goes gold just an FYI. There will be no quick answer if this is an issue with the beta code of that forum since support will be offered when it goes gold. At last check everything worked fine with RC 1.1RC1 so I would need to actually install RC2 and see what you mean if you can not authenticate.

Why not support newest SMF version when its be fine board
its really very unfair to "punish" SMF's users by this way |

We do not support beta code in any of our forum integrations ever that is a policy just about every software company has. BETA CODE is not stable code.
If SMF has changed something then that would need to be seen but we have several people using SMF with no issues. You would need to post your site url and a test login and explain what you mean by it does not work.

At this time we support the current stable release of SMF; if you are using the beta product, then we do not support changes to their code until they have gone final.
Changes may or may not be extensive, it depends on how much of their data changes during their development process. Sometimes we can provide assistance to help during the beta process, but the nature of betas themselves can make it a very time consuming process if the product keeps changing.

| SMf & PhotoPost bridge update?
It's been a long time since this thread was opened, so I'm checking to see if anything new has ocurred.
I have smf 1.1.7 (stable) & want to dump Crappermine for a more user and admin friendly program... like PhotoPost.
Is there a current, tested bridge for smf v1.1.7 ?

| I'm really glad to hear that!
Thank you for your reply.
One more question: is the bridge option included in the admin functions when the program is uploaded or does that have to be done independently?

The bridge is loaded when you install and elect to integrate with SMF and fill out all the necessary info when installing.

Well, I installed it and went to do the bridge.. I did all the pre-checks and permission checks and changes. I'm getting an on step 3.
"We're sorry, but we encountered an error during the installation process...
Could not connect to or create the PhotoPost database.
Be sure your user has permissions to CREATE or create a blank table before hitting REFRESH or go back to Step 1 to check your database settings."
Well, the path to the smf dbase is correct. I went into php admin and tried to creat a table within it, as suggested, which I could, but it asked me how many fields to create. I have no idea.
I've read through I don't know how many posts and the recurring answer by Chuck is, "Do you have our permissions set correctly?" Well, I can create databased with no problem. I just installed another program which is the smf database and it went smoothly. Server requires 755 not 777 due to suphp and will convert them to such. Other programs installed on this server said files had to be 777, were converted to 755, and I've had no problems.
Database name is correct. Username is correct, password is correct. I've installed 4 progams in the last 2 weeks and have not had this issue.
What do you need?

This is an explicit mysql response from the server. The database simply does not exist and can not be connected to so either you have not created it or the access is not correct. Recheck the information make sure you assigned your user to any database you created in your hosting control panel and also verify the hostname |

| smf installation problems: can't connect to database
And my answer to this is explicit: The database does exist. It's the smf database. The user is the cp admin which, by default, has all permissions. I have had no problem with 3 additional program installations requiring access to that db. I installed 2 programs just days ago, using their bridging routines and it all went without a hitch. My chat program table was created IN the smf db. So, if I didn't do the install correctly, the database doesn't exist, and the permissions aren't correct? How could this be possible? No problem with the chat program accessing the db. CMS? No problem accessing the db. Your competitor... Coppermine? No problem accessing the db.
So, why should PP be any different?
I verified my db username and password (like, I even needed to, given the previous scenario?) and they are entered correctly in the PP installation fields, as are the localhost and db name. The dbase exists. My permissions are correct.
The PP config_inc source code, as modified by the installation program, is the same.
I even added a different user to the database, giving all permissions, and tried, changing the install program fields to match. Same error. I tried making PP stand alone. Same error.
I ran the phpinfo program and verified the db base info & settings.
Bottom line: If every other program I installed had no problem verifying the db's existence and accessing it smoothly, that must mean I know what I'm doing in the first place... so, why isn't this the same with PP?
There is a full money back guarantee for my purchase of PP, correct?

If you use the database information that is in the SMF settings and the applications are all on the same server there should not be an issue.
You would be surprised how simple things can be slightly so wrong. I can say with the information presented there is a simple explanation but I would need much more information about this site like full access to the server to say more.
Feel free to contact us through the contact us link in the header and I will surely take a look.

| a work around
The db issue cannot be resolved easily at this time.
I can use PP if it can be bridged to mambo(mia). If it does, I can also install the classified ads program I want.
Do you have a bridge?

Well that would depend on mambo version we supported old mambo before it split as we do not support joomla.
I am not following why your db issue can not be resolved. We integrate with SMF just fine.
