I would suggest you use the upload as user option so it shows as the person you want who is a user in Photopost yes.

Sounds good. So, let me just clarify this. If I set the template to 720px by 480px, if someone uploads a larger movie say 800px by 650px, instead of the viewing area resizing automatically, it would cut off parts of his movie (trim the edges)? Is this correct in me saying this?
Thanks,
Paul

Yes this is what I am saying. This is the limitation of the quicktime embedded code and not photopost. You can only set a certain size on the embedded player. We set this to 320 x 256 but a user can change it.
I hope this clarifies the matter when using embedded players. You can see more info about what I mean on the quicktime site.

| Cool.
Ahh okay. I get it, sorry about that. Another thing, can these settings be edited per movie upload? Or is it a global parameter that you set (so... I want all my movies to be this big, and thats it?).
Thanks,
Paul

Yes as noted you can only define the embedded player in the associated template so whatever you set it to thats what size it is gonna be.

Okay, I purchased Photopost, and I now have it installed on our server. Although I'm having trouble performing an upload of a 32 MB video file. I know there are PHP limits, so I uploaded our movie via FTP to the uploads folder. Although when I use the admin bulk upload controls my movies are not appearing up there... Or in the queue to be approved.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Paul

I'm also not appearing as a verified customer, and I can't access the ticket system... Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Paul

Okay, I have it uploaded now... How do I add a thumbnail to the preview, and where can I edit the sizes (in what file)?
Thanks,
Paul

On the top announcement in any thread it tells you show to be a verified customer.
As far as an optional thumbnail when you upload a video on the second stage of upload where you can enter the title description there is a box to upload a thumbnail to represent the video.

| Questions
I don't see where it says that I am a verified customer... Right below my name it still says Registered User, and I still can't access the ticket system while I'm logged in... Can you give me some more information on this.
Could you type out a quick tutorial showing me how to upload videos (that have already been uploaded to a FTP folder) and add a thumbnail to those videos?
Thanks,
Paul

I'm also looking for the main template that will increase the size of the videos... I thought I found it in the /templates/embed-qt.tmpl, although whene I make the edits I want inside of that, and upload it, it doesn't show my changes. It would be pretty obvious if it was updated, because the size would be bigger, and you would have to click on an image before the quicktime movie starts loading.
Thanks,
Paul

As I have stated the quicktime embedded player can only be set to one size so you need to set it to a size that works for you.
Are the users you upload as going to be users registered in the software if so then use the upload as user. if not you use an extra field to name the owner but you would would be the person the files are owned by. You could alter the templates but there are quite a few you would need to edit

| Question Two
Could you take a look at our forum? It's located here. We installed Photopost on a separate database, and we seem to be having some problems.
I fixed the logout problem by duplicating the "Includes" folder and putting it in the photopost directory as well. Now users can correctly log out from either page.
Although... When I attempt to make a comment about a movie, soon as I submit the comment this appears on the main page. Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
Although when I go back to the movie the comment is there.
Secondly. If I try to change the location of a movie I get this error. Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
Should I just move Photopost to the same database that the forum is running on? Would that solve all my problems.
Thanks,
Paul

Well if you place a comment and are getting a problem pulling the user data that just means you have a missing profile field from installing a hack mod or removing a field
My suggestion would be to view your userfield table for vbulletin and add back in your missing field2 table field that is used to hold the user location. We pull that database on a user profile data or you can modify your vb3.php file to suit your particular install.
Where are you trying to move the file? I dont see any issue with moving things but let me know what script your talking since you can do it many places.
Your cat variable is empty which is the issue here.

I tried creating a location field again in the forum, although I'm unable to specify that I want it to be called field2, it defaults to field6. So we should probably just edit the vb3.php file.
How do I take my movies and add thumbnails to them? It keeps saying "QuickTime Video" right where the thumbnail should be.
Thanks,
Paul

Yes you can edit vb3.php and make field2 to field6 but in phpmyadmin you should be able to add a field called field2
As far as uploading a thumbnail to represent a video when you upload you will be presented on upload with the option of uploading a thumbnail to represent the file.

I don't want to use the location field for our forum. Can you show me how to edit the vb3.php file to remove the dependancy of the location field?
Thanks,
Paul
