Switching from Phpbb to vBulletin

I currently have a large forum running PHPBB. I currently use ReviewPost with this site. I'm considering adding both PhotoPost and your classifieds applications to this website. HOWEVER, I'm also considering a move from PHPBB to vBulletin sometime later.

Obviously, it would be great to change to vBB and THEN install PhotoPost and Classifieds. But I'd like to do this the other way around. Install PhotoPost and Classifeds integrating them with PHPBB. Then in a few months make the switch to vBB.

Are there any big problems in changing the integration with a forum application after the fact like this?

Thanks
Paul Green

I do not see any problems myself.

- Import all the phpbb accounts / forums/ posts / ect ... to vBulletin with the VB importer.

- Change settings on the programs to use VB vs. PHPBB.

Chuck S is the man to confirm this on not. I am working only on theory.

Well there is a big issue here as userid's change in the import from phpbb to vbulletin impex script. I wrote one to counter this for photopost but it is not good for reviewpost

Your would either need to alter the vbulletin impex script to import the userid intact and not change it in there import script or write a secondary script to scan the phpbb users table after import and reassign the proper userid back to the user in vbulletin.
