Where are images stored?
Are they actually stored in the database similar to attachments in vbulletin? Or do you have the ability to move them to a file system (just like vbulletin)? I have ton of storage space but am limited to 100 mb in my database.

No, files are stored on the server and not in the database (would be very inefficent for a photo gallery to do so).
