What would you do? VBa CMPS

I am creating a new sie for a client, using VBadvnaced CMPS 2.x. My client wants to integrate a gallery type function in their site.

Should I go with VBGallery or Photopost? I need a system that is easily integrated with the rest of VBa - but also have good features. I guess I'm kindof confused now, that both are available here. What is the best choice for a user, with VBa...

Thaks for some honest opinions... Also, is there a comparison thread somewhere that does pluses/minuses for each?

Thanks in advance -

Well each product has it's own niche!

vBGallery will win hands down on integration everytime since it is essentially an addon to vBulletin. The admin panel is within vbulletin's admin panel something photopost's is not. However as far as look and feel not much of a difference. Alot of vBGallery was built around the look of Photopost.

If your talking features now PhotoPost will win hands down every time. The integration with vBulletin is good but since we are our own product not an addon to vbulletin our administration panel is in our program. Hense the big integration difference.

Hi, I have vb forum and looking for a gallery to add as well.

My question is with photo post php, if a member uploads a picture in a thread on the vb forums, will that show in the gallery?

One last question, With vb upgrading often would you be better off with photopost pro? Because alot of the vb upgrades the templates and you need to go thru the reinstall. Or does vba gallery uses the plugin system.

No gallery software is going to do that.

Currently yes with vBGallery you need to reinstall the templates. With Photopost Pro you have no concerns whatsoever since our templates are not in vb.

That's what I kind of was thinking but I had to ask. Just so I'm on the same page here. Vba works from the vb cp and photopost has it's own cp and that is what set the apart, other then photo post having more features. I guess as long as the members of the forum dosen't have to relogin to the gallery, I'm good to go with photopost. It seems to look and work good here with vb.

The replies to a photo in the gallery have the old vb look. Do you have an option in the software to have the newer look?

Sorry for all the question.

Thanks

Yes vBGallery admin panel and templates are in vbulletin which makes for a tighter integration.

PhotoPost pro on the front end has great VB integration as seen here. Now the admin panel is our own admin panel correct and our templates are our templates. Photopost has tons more features and stuff included as standard whereas now for vbgallery are only available as hacks.

What do you mean? If your referring to button set's you can create your own. Those are generic buttons we include.

You mean only if you update vBG templates, right? Cuz it will not reinstall vBG templates every time you update vB, it will leave vBG templates alone. But I wonder if we need to update vBG that include template, will it not going to overwrite your current vBG template right away but allow you to look and compare before make change on vB admin panel ("Styles and Templates" > "Find Updated Templates")?
