what is? PhotoPost vBGallery |
I have a somewhat similar question-- I know what it is but would like to find out more, and then would like to know when I will be able to purchase this product. |
PhotoPost has acquired the rights to vBAdvanced Gallery. Now called: Photopost vBGallery - The gallery runs on vBulletin forums ver. 3.0x / 3.5x (only) - There is a compare chart and price in the works. - Demo site also in the works. Welcome vBadvanced Gallery Customers. http://www.photopost.com/forum/showthread.php?t=119665 |
free for ppost pro license holders? Sounds great. I didn't see my question answered directly, only something about linking licenses together. I previously purchased Photopost Pro and went to go download it again and it says my license expired in November. Blah blah blah.......Can I just pay the $40 to download it in a few days when it's available (if thats the ETA) or will I have to pay a full priced fee? Hopefully just the $40, then I won't feel so bad since I didn't really use it much in the past year. |
Photopost Pro is not vBGallery If you pay the 39.00 renewal fee that will renew your Photopost license. It does not entitle you to get vBGallery. You would need to purchase a vBGallery license for that when it becomes available. |
Are there any advantages of PhotoPost vBGallery over Photopost Pro? Will any vBGallery features be added to the already excellent Photopost Pro with vBulletin integration which already works great? |
Complete sales information comparing and contrasting the two products will be available at photopost.com soon. The biggest difference is that PhotoPost vBGallery only works with vBulletin - in short, it is a streamlined gallery with fewer features than PhotoPost PHP Pro, that only works with vBulletin. |
Linking Licenses Quote:
Just a little update when you get the time, thank you. Edward |
Edward, There was indeed a license extension offered but it was for a 90-day window after vBa Gallery became PP vBGallery and so that deadline has passed. What kind of problem are you having with the license? |

You would only have qualified for a free members area extention if you upgraded your vbgallery to the new copyright and emailed customer service as the thread suggested within those 90 days to ask for the license extention. Since those 90 days are up you would not get the free extention for something that has expired over a month ago. |

But your message is incorrect, my ORIGINAL purchase of the gallery doesn't expire until 6/09/2006 (as per my purchase from VBadvanced)- I was on this site within the 90 day time-frame, "and" downloaded the updated version of the gallery (the one that has the proper copyright). Please, check your records - Please fix the ability to link both licenses and have them show in my membership area.. At the very LEAST, I'm still running on my ORIGINAL expiration date... Thanks for your help in advance. |

I do not think you understand what the offer and the requirements to be able to get the free members area extention and I would suggest that you read this http://www.photopost.com/forum/showt...51#post1151451 Since you did update your copyright and email customer service within the 90 day window you are not able to get the license extended to June 2007 so your members access would expire June 2006. Asking in a helpdesk thread how to retrieve your members access details would have nothing to do with the offer directly. If you emailed customer service before 2-22-06 with your site url and asking for the license extention then gladly take that up with them but from what I am reading by you that is not the case here. Now as far as your license linking the link button works fine. I have 5 licenses linked together under my Photopost area. I would suggest if you do not have the correct info to link your vbgallery license to another members area that you enter the email addy on file for your vbgallery license and the system will mail you the access details and you can link it under your reviewpost area. If it says invalid license it is because the info you enter is incorrect. Double check the information you are entering on the link box as it has to be typed correctly. http://www.photopost.com/auth.html |
Edward, When you sent an email on 1/18/2006 was it to gain access to the downloads or was it to request the 90 extension after you downloaded the new package and updated the copyright? |
From what I have read from his post Kevin it was to gain access to download the code. |

Most definately if he emailed customer service before February 22,2006 specificaly asking for a license extention and gave them his url as noted in the offer he should get the extention. ;) |
It honestly doesn't matter Quote:

http://www.photopost.com/forum/showp...10&postcount=1 Where it says I'm supposed to email something to take advantage of any offers. I couldn't find it, even when I'm re-reading it. I don't even see where it says I'm supposed to notify anyone if I did make the change! At this point, I really don't give a rip about "extending" or "free" anything... I merely wanted to get my licenses linked... I finally did that today... by entering the OLD password originally sent to me.. Your system doesn't take into consideration someone changing their access password (the access name never changed). The clue was when Chuck told me to enter the "addy" as he put it.. The address never changed of course, but the password did... (Heck Chuck, where do you enter the "addy" anyway to link licenses?) At any rate, if you don't EXTEND my license, thats ok.... if you want to play that hand.. I'll go along with it. I have until JUNE to do anything anyway. Hey, ya think I should spend some more money and just buy another product from photopost? :) |
You asked for your login details to download the software and customer service looks like they sent them to you thats for clarifying what I gathered from your last email. Your members area access details for each license never change once we issue them. If you where trying to enter vbadvanced members access into our photopost system I could see linking not working. Glad you sorted the link issue by getting the right details entered. The President made an offer to all vbgallery customers here giving them a 90 day window to update there license and if they complied by emailing a url asking for a free years access we would grant it http://www.photopost.com/forum/showthread.php?t=119665 He then posted here that the offer was now over and no longer valid http://www.photopost.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123556 Sorry you did not participate in the license extention offer but I don't think we have played any hand here. |
