Now from what I understand, it was acquired through legal means, which meant nothing to me! Photopost might be in their rights to own vBG, who know and cares, it's business. What matters to me is what is happening now and later. And from what I can see they are doing everything they can to answer questions, rants, raves, and BS, which is admirable. All we know, Brian put them in this position, again I don't know or care... Yes, I know many of you know Brian or have a history with him but I don't, so I am looking at this situation WITHOUT feelings. (SCIENCE, I SAY, SCIENCE!) ;-)
Why don't we give Photopost a chance and lets see what happens. While the Photopost Pro is more of what I need, I was more impressed with the layout, voting, etc features of vBG, the two products together should share features and think the future holds a lot.
Look folks, I don't own either product since today, but I did try to place an order a couple of times and even post my issues on the old gallery, email and PM to Brian. But shortly after site was down and then this... I want to purchase PPvBG, if the price points remain close or at least the same considering, for my situation, that there is proof that I attempted to purchase at the old cost. Considering this, nothing illegal about making money through product sales. My only concern was Scott comments about
VB cost X, so why can a gallery cost X. My thoughts on this, PP is a stand alone product and can be the same X cost BUT vBG is a mod/plugin/extra to
VB and the comparison changes then. If you buy, a car for X can a company justify charging the same X to mod/update it? No, not reasonable... BUT if company (modder) changes it before hand and makes it a "new" product for a different usage then yes a specialty vehicle is justifiable for the cost but vBG is just a mod. Now consider that this is America... Scott can run his company how he wants to, period and I respect that.
Anyway, with everything aside, Scott, Michael, Kevin, etc should be given a chance. Despite, how PP obtained the rights to vBG and from what I have seen they are trying to get everything done as quickly as possible. Especially Michael... YES, having a Baby is an excuse and to the F*(!ers that say it is a business and it is not an excuse, true for big business but for small growing companies like PP, it is more than an excuse; it is a family! Both families, internal to the company and for Michael himself.
So from here let all of us mature and stop the bashing and start support the current owner with problems on this forum and let the staff do their job.
Happy holidays,
Charles
