Your Customers Demand Answers
There has been a lot of name calling and mud slinging with general anger but I want to cut straight to the chase.
Frankly since AEI (All Enthusiasts, Inc) is the company that acquired vbgallery I’d like an explanation.
What your new customers want are some answers to why this happened and why no one was given notice. I’ve read some of the threads and you’re staff re-assure us to give you all a second chance to prove how much better your company is and how it has grown.
If that’s truly the case, how about answering some questions about your recent purchase of vbgallery and your business practices.
Why did AEI decide to "acquire" vbgallery (And I use the term acquire loosely")
How does AEI think this will benefit the customers? And what will be the end result of this transaction, now and in the long run.
As an entrepreneur I am very curious and would like answers, the feeling on vbadvanced.com is well... I am only stating my own opinions, so I wont'. But I don't believe this was a good business transaction. And it almost feels although certain business practices of questionable moral value were used.
So what’s the answer AEI? Why was the decision made to acquire vbgallery? Was this just to incorporate something or was this an attack against a new competitor to stay fresh in the market place?
Secondly, why have you now raised the prices on your photopost gallery from 99 to 130$ (Techinically its now listed as 199$ on sale, thats more than vbulletin) after this acquisition? And thirdly why do you think this was in the best interest of customers?
At least Wachovia sent a letter answering why they were taking over my bank. How about you do the same since I’m now a paying customer of yours.
PS: I’ve been a paying customer in the past as well owning a pp license.
vBGallery represents a strategic aquisition in the Photo Gallery space that we innovated. PhotoPost was the first Photo Gallery to integrate with vBulletin directly and vBGallery will offer our users a choice of integrations to suit their needs.
PhotoPost has always been $129, although we ran a $99 special for about a month not long ago (and we have run various special at infrequent internals from time to time).
Emails and everything else is forthcoming.
I'd also like to add: Why don't the transfered accounts have posting or PM'ing priveledges?
If there is a problem with the merger, I'd be glad to look at any specific information you can provide me. Everyone should have posting and PM privledges.
The above statement highlighted in bold tells me everything I need to know about your aquisition. Thank you. I can see this company follows the dollar and not Character. It doesn't take a brain suregon to figure out what transpired, however I wont' comment. While it's just business, I think it's less than honorable. Congratulations on the aquisition. I hope your business practices improve.
Thank you for replying.
PS: I don't need any further answers, so if you'd like to close this before someone decides to start mud slinging, please do so.
Thank you again for the time to reply.
No, PhotoPost is priced at $129 currently.
I'm not sure how buying a product is "bad character", we're simply offering our customers the software choices they look for.
I hope I answered your questions.

$199.00 <<< THIS IS CROSSED OUT
The word sale seems to indicate that I must be getting a great bargin. Or is it always $129.00 and you did that to make me think I'm getting a great bargin?
I don't pull this out of air here: http://store.yahoo.com/techimo/photlic.html
Its right there. Yeah photopost is priced at 129.00 but its listed as a sale price. If thats the price and you sometimes offer it for 99 dollars why do you still maintain $199.00 dollars above it with a strike through font?
Another question for the folks here. Why did your transaction impose a complete gag on VBA? What are you trying to hide from your customers?
And the drama continues for some.....
Please leave it out of my thread, I'd like only the facts please.
I think the facts have been answered on numerous occasions and in several other threads. If you are expecting actual answers why dont you peruse the annoucement thread and email them?
This is obviously another anti-pp rant, like the one that was just closed over at Vb.org.
The price has been different at different times; however, I believe we have settled on $129 as the long term price and our pricing will be updated to reflect that.
A "Non Discloser Agreement (NDA)" is a standard part of any transaction that involves a transfer of assets; we agree not to discuss his private information and he agrees not to discuss his.
I understand the desire to know what transpired, but that doesn't mean you are entitled to know the details. This transaction was conducted between two private entities, as such it's a private matter.
I think I pretty much stated in my first thread, I wasn't interested in the private matters involving the purchuse, but more on why the decision was made and what was the thought process behind it, all of which was answered already.
I think this thread is done.

1) You do not speak for me.
2) I did not read the rest of your dribble - see #1.
Did millions of people flood AT&T wireless when Cingular Wireless bought then out with the same question?
But did it matter ?
- Use the product or not.
- They took on the customer base vs. buy and close down the project.
- They honor old contracts vs. tell you to pound sand.
They want to help to make this a better product and further good relations and all I see from many (not all) people its crying.
Price is always subject to change - supply / demand - options.
I removed his post, its counter-productive to have these kinds of attacks in the forum. We can discuss issues and address your concerns, but I will not get into a heated debate about who did what and why. What's done is done and I'm only interested in looking forward.
