Directory structure question

As I understand it, vba Gallery organizes images based on userid.

If I'm the only person (userid 1) authorized to upload photos, all of the images + generated thumbs will go under gallery/files/1. Will this cause a problem down the road if I have say 100,000 images all in a single directory? I'm concerned about performance, not to mention the organizational mess of having all files in a single directory.

I'm an event photographer and have been using Coppermine, which allows me to maintain separate directories. I like this but am looking for tighter integration with vBulletin. I'm also considering Photopost... does anyone know if Photopost will allow me to maintain a directory structure, ie each event in a separate directory?

Re: Directory structure question

There is a good chance that some systems will have a problem coping with having that many images stored in a single folder. Though we *may* have an option in the future that will allow you to store images according to their category id instead of the userid.
