Customization of Gallery Add-on

I'd like to use the Gallery as a database for identifying medications. Would this be possible or easy to setup given the default install?

Could I organize, search, or add pictures/items with variable for manufacturer, brand name, dosage, etc?

Depending upon how complicated you want to make it a 'stock' install of Gallery will do that for you. For example, you could add custom fields through the control panel for the manufacturer, dosage, etc. and brand name. You can then also search within the comments and 'key words' that you enter.
