Importers for Gallery with VB 3.5?
 

Hello all.

I am thinking of purchasing the new version of Gallery. I am currently running Coppermine 1.2 and wanted to know if the importer for vBaGallery would run with the new version of VB (3.5) or if it even had anything to do with VB 3.5. I wasn't sure if it would effect anything. I am currently running VB 3.5 RC1 with no problems and recently installed CMPS flawlessly. I wanted to purchase Gallery today, but wanted to make sure I could import my current gallery before I do so.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Currently the import scripts will not work with 3.5 and unfortunatly we have not had a chance to update them to do so. If you would like to speed up the process a little for yourself though then you can submit a support ticket via the Members' Area here once you have purchased the gallery and I can convert the import script and run it for you on your site.

Anyone?? This is a sticking point for me since I want to be up and running soon. This is a peak time for me and I only have a small window of time for development. Otherwise I may go with Photopost. Any response would help here. Thanks.

The import process itself shouldn't take long at all (unless you have an insane amount of images/posts in your Gallery). How long it takes from the time you submit the ticket until the time it happens will be determined by Brian's workload.

And if I recall correctly, there was no charge for imports, since it helps them test their import script. Brian will have to confirm however.

As CS said, there's no cost for support tickets or for me doing the import for you. You're helping us out a little as well by allowing us to test it out on your site.
As for the time, unfortunatly I have been very limited in my time online this week, so it would probably be tomorrow before I would be able to do it for you.

Hey Brian. Tomorrow is soon enough for me. Once I purchase the Gallery do you want me to install and then get a ticket? Also what would you like me to put int the ticket? Thanks so much.

Yes, go ahead and install everything once you make the purchase. You can test it out and such, but keep in mind that any images/categories will be deleted during the import. For the ticket, just be sure to inlcude your info and say somewhere that it's for the 3.5 import.
