I was reading on vBulletin.com that putting the images on a seperate server that uses thttpd instead of apache can improve performance drastically, and this is what is done on most of the heavily trafficked boards. I read that the way vBaGallery is coded now requires you to keep the images on the same server. Is there a way to overcome this restriction to allow for a seperate image server running just thttpd? If not, is it planned to allow for this in the near future? Requiring that the images be on the same server is going to make it impossible for a gallery site to scale to any decent size and traffic. Thanks for the consideration. |
