Couple questions about Gallery

Currently I am using both CMPS and Links and love your work.

I like the look of Gallery and like the idea of staying with the same group for major updates.

I'm particularly interested in having a "Pic of the Day" section in a CMPS module on my front page - same pic all day long. Is this possible/has this been done already?

I'd also like users to be able to rate pictures? Does gallery support this?

There are a few 'random picture' type hacks but I haven't seen one yet that does it by day.
