A few questions Hi, I am interested in buying the gallery script. It looks very nice. Just a couple of questions: 1) Right now I have my forum and main site on different site/FTP accounts, but they are both on the same dedicated server. Ex: The forum is located at http://forums.mydomain.com and the main site at http://www.mydomain.com. Is it possible for me to install the gallery on my main site? Or would I have to move the forum to a directory on the main site (/forums/) for the gallery to work? I don't want to install the gallery under http://forums.mydomain.com/ 2) I am also interested in the Links script also. It would be nice if there is some sort of discount if I order both the gallery and links at the same time. 3) $19.99 renewal fee is a bit expensive I think. It would be great if you can lower it, to maybe $10. That's all. Keep up the good work! |
Re: A few questions hmm... I can't seem to edit my above post. Is edit post disabled? Anyway, one more question: 4) I assume the gallery script will use my forum's styles? |

Re: A few questions 1). Yes, it will work fine as long as it's installed on the same server as your forum. 2). Sorry, but we don't offer discounts for buying both as they're both already very inexpensive solutions. 3). Compare that to the cost to renew PhotoPost. ;) 4). Yes. |

Thanks for the reply. :) |
Re: A few questions Yes. :) |
Re: A few questions I am not familiar with PhotoPost. What are the main differences between the two scripts and how is this gallery better? I plan to order a gallery script within a week or two. :) |
Re: A few questions the first difference is PP is over $100. I have an older version of PP and used both on seperate forums and I am getting gallery from here on paypay. vbgallery is easier to install/configure and the support is far better. |
Re: A few questions Don't forget total lack of any sort of real intergration :) |
Re: A few questions Ok, I have been playing with the admin panel of both for a bit. It does look like PhotoPost has more features now, but I am sure vBa Gallery will have more features in the near future. :) Is it possible to re-order images in a gallery, just like re-ordering smilies in vB? I tried the "View Images" link in the admin panel but got a Page Not Found error. Also, is it easy to give the gallery a different layout from the forum? I don't think I want the gallery to look exactly like my forum... probably more like the main site. Thanks! |
Re: A few questions There's an option to sort images by the date they were added, title, or last post. Everything is in vB's template system, so it's easy to change the look and feel. |
