| PhotoPost purchases vBaGallery
There should be an official announcement made shortly, but as some of you have already noticed there has been an announcement on vbadvanced.com about our purchase of the vBaGallery photo gallery script for vBulletin. PhotoPost sees this aquisition as a way of offering our vBulletin customers a choice in the type of intergration and features they want for their community.
I'd like to assure all users that development on PhotoPost will continue in its present form. PhotoPost vBGallery will be an additional product available from here and will have it's own support forums. Development on vBGallery will also continue as we have exciting plans for the product in the coming revisions.
All current vBaGallery customers will be supported once the conversion has taken place. We will offer the product for download and purchase and all current maintenance plans will be honored until their renewal date.
I apologize that the transition will take a couple days to complete, but we should have the "old" support forums in place in their "new" location soon. Thank you for your patience.

I'd like to know why there was no advanced NOTICE GIVEN ABOUT THIS SWITCH?
I'm very upset, and I would be less upset if either parties had given notice.
I'm a current holder of a license to both softwares, I let my members area run out on photopost, but I'm up to date with vbgallery.
So do I have to renew my members area access to access software I already PAID FULLY FOR?

No, you do not have to renew your membership access; your membership information is being transferred.

Congrat.! Now the gallery softwares are getting into the same place. Hopefully we will have better products and supports.
I have some questions here:
so ... there's gonna be 2 different gallery products?
are they going to merge, combined in some kind?
will Photopost still support integration with vB (in future)?
is there any support staff from vBadvanced joining photopost? anyway, this is a good sign for photopost on the road.

I do not anticipate combining the products as vBGallery is built exclusively for vBulletin and PhotoPost supports a dozen forum integrations as well as operates as a stand-alone gallery.
Development on both products will continue as the products were built - meaning PhotoPost Pro will continue to have vB3Enhanced and vBulletin integrations.
I do not have an answer on the support staff conversions; but any changes to our support staff will be announced here. We are always looking for qualified individuals to help with support and offer a paid position for those who are qualified.

Thats what I'm worried about.. I own both and have said this before.. I think vBGallery sucks, and want to be 100% that I can keep going with photopost like I have... (Just a VERY worried customber here)

Yes, that is what I am telling you. PhotoPost Pro will continue as it always has with no changes in direction. There are many compelling reasons to choose PhotoPost Pro over PhotoPost vBGallery, so there is no reason to handicap PhotoPost Pro just because we added vBGallery to the mix.

Photopost's features will not be diminished in any way by this transaction. Photopost integrates with 16 different forums/cms out there and will continue to do so.
vBGallery only integrates with Vbulletin and is not a standalone applications.
If anything I think only both applications can get better
You have no worries Crowsworld.

yeah, it's always a great help when we can have a strong support team (both volunteer and paid)

This is a sad day, I can't tell you how disappointed I was with my photopost application. I am one of the many thousands that switched to the vbgallery and have been extremely happy with the ease and function of the product. I just hope that PP doesn't make the scripts as ridiculously difficult to work with and what seemed like daily updates to products as they did PP when I used it.

In defence of photopost ... I submitted a support request less than an hour ago and it has been answered and dealt with already

That's great.
However, on the opposite end I still have issues from February 17th that support didn't even bother to reply to.
I can't believe I am forced to deal with this company again, after they put so much effort into making me leave the first time.

Thank you.
But I feel bad for everyone with support issues that have been outstanding longer than the measely nine months I have been waiting and were bumped so I could be placed at the front of the line.
I have resolved this issue a few moments ago myself. Feel free to close that support request.
