vBaGallery & PhotoPost

So I understand you own vBa Gallery...when will the support start? I have a question.

I'm still waiting for the details, but assume that whatever was worked out will be addressed shortly.

I do know this - the product will be supported here and development will continue. We will be moving all of the forum entries from the previous supprt forum here as soon as we get the data.

Let me be clear - nobody who owns a vBaGallery license will be left in the cold; your product will be supported here and we will continue developing the product independent of our PhotoPost PRO gallery.

Ok the only information we have is that everything has been sent over to you guys. I ask because I think there are a lot of outstanding issues that people are having and would like to get their sites up.

Thanks for the response.

any chance of having our photopost php licences changed to vbgallery (vbagallery) licences? or variant, once released here? I don't want to step on toes, but everything I've been asking for years for in photopost, vbagallery did .. so since your taking over the project, I'd like to know if I can switch my licence/s over, depending on what your doing with it ..

As an ex photopost customer , it's nice to see that everything is as disorganised and chaotic as it always was .

It's so good to be back - NOT.

well this is a fresh start for photopost team to take on a VERY good product, It will be very interesting to see what they do with it ..

I have 3 1/1 photopost php owned licences, and I few vbagallery licences aswell and was about to buy 3 more vba licences for a client, he'd love to have the systems up before the end of the weekend, so I'm kinda in limbo at the moment ..

Well.. My fear is: Nothing.. I suppose it was a strategic buy, so they get rid of the rival.

I hope, that I am wrong... But we will see...

Some of the reason for the "disorganization" is the fact that on Thursday my family welcomed its newest member to it's clan. This would make #5 and the first boy in the group. I would hope that a little disorganization on my part concerning the forums could be overlooked during this transition given I've been out of the loop for the past few days and coping with little sleep as the fella becomes adjusted to "life on the outside".

From what information I do have, the materials we are expecting are being devliered via CD for us to integrate into our systems. As such, until I see what Brian is sending us, I'm not sure how to do the integration.

I have every expectation that we will continue development of vBGallery to include use of the new AJAX and hooks capability of vBulletin - we'll also look at adding some of the unique features of PhotoPost to vBGallery. I fully expect vBGallery to become an active development project for PhotoPost.

As for policies, prices and such; please be patient, I am sure Scott will have some info for you shortly.

Ahh, you mentioned Scott, so I had to check to see if this was the same Scott I am familiar with... and it happens to be one in the same. Now things are falling into place.

.Tim, read what I wrote above and it should put your concerns to rest. Also, read this thread over on .Org for info posted by Scott.

in my opinion, brian just got too big too fast and didn't want the extra workload...
i guess we'll see what he says, if anything...
too bad though because it has so much potential to be so huge...
i think he passed on a serious business venture that could retire him comfortably...
both galleries are good in their own way, both galleries have issues and need tweaks and additions...
i just wish they would combine all the stuff from both and make one powerful son of a bitch that is perfectly stable in all environments and including every feature we have all asked for...
seem like i'm asking too much?
or onto something here...

While it's nice to see that being said, my concerns won't be completely put to rest until I get to see it all in action and how things are handled once it gets going.

No problem, .Tim; it's not something that happens within hours of the transition, but it is something we are working on.
