| Photos in Profiles? Greetings!
I'm just before pulling the last of my hair out trying to put together a community, and I've been directed to Photopost as a possible solution.
I'm developing a profile-centric community, and am apparently trying to do something "strange".
Quite simply, I want users' photos to appear in/with their profiles. Is this possible with Photopost? I haven't seen a specific mention of it, but if I'm pointed in the right direction, I don't mind doing a little work to get there.
I was originally looking at an IPB integration, but this feature is so central to my need that my community software is optional at this point for the sake of getting it done.
Is this something that can be made to work with Photopost?
Thanks!

| Well what your trying to do is quite unique and your not going to find an application that does it.
You would need a gallery application say like Photopost but whatever forum you intend to use is where you would need to write a modification to show say x amount of photos in the profile
This is a default Photopost profile page http://www.reeftalk.com/gallery/member.php?uid=1 |

| Thanks, Chuck!
OK - as far as integration goes, can I call Photopost profile fields into the IPB profile view? If so, it would be asy enough to cobble together.
Thanks again,
Kevin |

| No sorry you can not. Since they are separate applications in there own right the only way to do so would be to write some scripts to pull the queries and define the variables and edit your ibp scripts to grab all this stuff |

As far as I understood it, khigh means all photos a users uploaded, right?
I am looking for something slightly different.
Our Photo gallery is like a big community too. And many users are asking to add a picture of themselves into their profile (i.e. a head & shoulder portait of themselves)
Very similar to user profiles in discussions boards
Is there a way to hack this? I do not mind if they have to respect certain size restriction (no auto size function). Maybe this would make it easier.
Thanks in advance |

| Yes he wants to show certain stats things from the gallery in an IBP profile screen
Well placing a photo of themselves in there profile would require a good bit of extra coding as well to add in avatars to profile like a forum. |

can you mail me for the cost of this mod in combination with more text fields in the userprofile?
My problem is, that I have a few ideas for new feautures but I do not wnat to loose my ability to upgarde later to newer PP versions.
So at the end of the day, I would need to pay for a feature to get it now, but have to be sure that it is implemented for sure in one of the next releases.
How can we resolve my "psychological conflict"? |

| Do want the users to have their own homepage? Where they can post photos and type text? If so I saw a mod for it on vbulletin.org (if u decide to go with vb) It won a mod of the month deal. I'll look it up if thats what you're seeking. |

What I see here is that, you want your (or member of your community) pictures (posted in photopost) display in your profile (your forum's profile), right?
that's more related to IPB (or whatever forum software you use), so you might want to look over hacsk for IPB too.
Chuck, to support this idea, i think something like inc_features.php, calling in vB, or IPB profile might work |

| Hi
I do not use vbulletin. I always use only stand alone registrations (internal registration)
So I am looking for a solution without any code that is needed from outside software
In contrast to knigh, I only want to display the portrait of the suer, so that he can introduce himself to the community with his profile. |

| Yes.
I upgraded in the meantime to PP 5.3
I did not get yet any quote for a hack. Could you please send me one?
Or will it be included in the next release (when will this be expected)?
Thanks in advance |

| Usually if a user wants custom services done they can send email to me with the requirements.
I said I would do some thinging on the subject above but never got a formal request asking for a hack to be created from you. |

| Hi
I also did not hear anything regarding a user profile. We have now version 5.5. and you only added stuff for vb users. But I payed for photopost, not for vbulletin.
I can expect therefore more feature for a stand alone version instead of any kind of integration stuff with other forums.
Or you make the version for non- vb users cheaper, because so many feature are for vbuser only and really basic features are missing for the stand alone product, which I payed for. So I pay with my money the development of features that I can not use!
This treatment is really annoying!
So what are you planning to fix this problem asap? |

| There are no plans that I know since we have no open beta
However my suggestion to you is to place suggestions in the suggestions forum and actively participate with Michael when a beta cycle for Photopost comes around. Beta users know they are the ones who usually get features they want added |

| Hi Chuck,
i know that you are not responsible for this, but this sucks. I sent already mails directly to Michael regarding this in the past. I also asked for this, wehn Michael announced for the beta this feature.
Actually it is almost a joke that me as a user has to push the nose on this subject which is so obvious - latest when Michael decided to offer forum profile with vb integration.
Sorry, but to release a version with that feature without offering something similar for pure photopost costumers is a slap in the face of the costumer!
I expect that Michael is doing a hack VERY SOON for this. I am really pissed...
I will post this aslo in the suggestion forum and sent AGAIN directly an e-mail to him.
I expect the someone acts now instead of phrases like "we considering this.." |
