Does Photopost support Flash swf files?
If not, how hard or easy it is to add support for swf?

Yes, you can upload them as multimedia files. Flash files can even be played embedded in the page.

You can add thumbnail during multimedia upload procedure.

Upload multimedia first, then add image for thumbnail.
