Hosting a competition questions

I'm looking at buying PhotoPost to use as an artists' competition forum. After snooping around, here are things I'd like to do that I'm not sure PhotoPost can handle. I don't necessarily need to know how to do it, just that it can be done without hacking.

1. A user can rate an image on a scale from 1-10.
2. Those votes would not be public and would only be available to the admin.
3. Comments would only be viewable to the admin.
4. When the contest is over, the final score and comments would then be viewable to the whole community.
5. Will it automatically adapt to my vB styles so I don't have to go in a re color everything?

Not exactly as you want, not without modifying some code.

We do have a contest feature, though; example:

Where users can vote and when the voting is ended, the one with the photos are listed in the order of those with the most votes.

PhotoPost also uses vB3 styles so no recoding is necessary.

In the code I could theoretically add some

if (viewer = admin)
then show votes, results and comments.
else check back later for winners

Then, when the contest is over delete that if statement?

Being unfmailiar with how PhotoPost is coded, would a strategy like that work?

Yes, you could do that. Right now votes are shown during voting, but you could add code to either only display the votes when the contest is over (or just to the admin).

I don't think this would require more than a couple if's like you said in the showgallery.php and showphoto.php pages. (showphoto.php would be the page where comments are displayed).

Forgot one I just need confirmation on.

PhotoPost shares vB's users database so that ...

1) Users won't need to re-register
2) Only registered users of the main vB site will be able to view and post

Yes, they share the user database and you can set permissions such that only registered users can view/post.
