Where are the pics stored?

I am in the process of creating my first website.It will be forum based (phpBB2) .The webhost I use allows me one 150MB MySQL database on which my forum is situated. Can PhotoPost be installed in the same DB?
If so, 150MB doesnt sound a lot ,especially where pictures are concerned.Is it possible to store the pics on my webspace (2GB) rather than in the DB?
