View Full Version : How to embed PhotoPost in Wordpress Site?
November 30th, 2013, 05:05 AM
Hope you're enjoying Thanksgiving.
My blog has both a left and a right sidebar with a rotating top banner. See attached screenshot.
To maintain the overall website style I would like to integrate PP into the center section.
Please advise the best way to do this.
Thanks in advance.

Well that would be up to you to create whatever header and what footer you want to load around photopost. You can load the header footer files you create from global options in admin. Use your own page source as a guideline. Take the source delete any <body></body> tags. Take whatever stuff is in between the head tags in your page and place in a headtags.htm file and save make sure to remove the <head></head> tags themselves. In the headtags.htm file you created any links to files etc male sure if they are relative to use full urls so the files will be found when called from your gallery. Now what's left is the site html. Find the beginning of the center content itself and the end and delete just that making sure to leave the table or div that opens and closes the center section. What is above the center section is your header and what is below is the footer. Make sure to save in files called header.htm and footer.htm.
Just be careful to open and close the content correctly which is why I said pay careful attention to the opening and closing of the center section.
You can load the files you created from the admin.

Is there a way to show member avatars when linked to the wordpress set up?
Thanks for your excellent support.

With the current integration NO since wordpress is not a forum I do not even think that was even considered. If you have some information on how avatars are done in wordpress and what database fields etc I might be able to type something up that would help.

I have removed those wordpress and hack authors files.
So essentially you are saying wordpress does not have avatars which I already figured and this is a hack you added. That is fine.
Let me post this again so you uderstand what I am trying to steer you to find.
1. What database table and field name holds the avatar data? Is it just one field say in the wordpress user table called avatar or is it several different fields.
2. How is that data stored meaning say if its one field called avatar is it a filename or a full url to an image or the physical file itself.
3. If the avatar is present give a physical url representation you can use a real url from your site showing the avatar.
I have no issues spending time adding in default functionality of a core product we support if possible but we do not support modifications or hacks as a general rule. So really we are left with me trying to steer you in the right place to get info so that I can point you in the right direction. This is definitely not something we can add to our core product.
