View Full Version : Xenforo breadcrumb problem
October 5th, 2013, 11:26 AM
I discovered that the breadcrumb is displaying my username at the pp-pro index to all users; then it changes to "home" on subsequent pages:
On your Omegatron site, it appears that the intent is to display the Photo Album name - but that isn't happening on my site. It is displaying my username:
Where do I look to fix this?

yes the breadcrumb always displays that on the index that is by default and has always been this way from day one as there is no breadcrumb on the index.
That is not a bug or problem. ;)
You can modify index.php and change the wording for $childnav as you see fit.
If no user is logged in it says welcome to your sitename. If your logged in it says welcom username.

Thanks for the help, I changed the code to display my Gallery name - by just copying the line that displays the gallery name instead.
In order for your code to work, I think an unregistered user would have to go by a specific name. It doesn't appear that my site's values match what your code intends, but wasn't able to determine what the magic value was for an unregistered user.
to put it another way, if I modified it this way:
if ( $User['username'] && $User['username'] != "webmaster" )
Instead of "Unregistered", then at least my username wasn't being displayed to all registered users who were looking at the photo album index.
Hope this helps.

Well the default guest name is usually defined in the forum integration but if you want to bypass all this then this is even simpler
if ( $User['username'] && $User['userid'] > 0 )
