View Full Version : Error after Server Migration
September 16th, 2013, 04:41 PM
After we migrated to a new server, our PhotoPost software experiences the following error after uploading the photo:
(): Sorry, this image type is not supported yet.
All our paths should have been corrected, but maybe we missed one.

The sticky in this very forum should assist in how to move servers. Should you need to post for support you may need to renew your members access.

I've double-checked things and still the error. Any other suggestions? I renewed my access today.

I would suggest you check that the server paths to your data directory and uploads directories are correct in Global Options in Admin. I would then suggest you go to storage options and hit revert and save twice to load the new default paths. You must then as with any new install since you moved servers set permissions recursively on the data and uploads folders all the way down to 777 permissions.

Thank you! The issue was with the storage options page. Once I hit revert twice, the correct path was set and now we can upload. Thanks once again!

Unfortunately, we encountered a new issue.
With newly created galleries, photos go through the uploading process and then do not appear in the gallery. Any suggestions?

well any errors? You sure this is not an issue of you trying to upload an image that is larger than your server allows and thus is not uploaded?
You would have to give an example url to upload to and test user login.

I think I figured out the issue. The data folders created for those galleries were lacking contents. We deleted the galleries and added new ones and now they're working. Thanks!

ah so you are saying you did not transfer the entire contents of your old gallery?
Make sure as a side note safe mode is not on in PHP as that should be off.

After the migration, we were having issues with uploads (as noted in this string). During that time, an admin created galleries for future photo uploads and they had no contents (no sub-folders, nothing). It was a bit bizarre. During this time we also had an issue with a bad script ballooning our error log to max out the hard drive capacity, which may have prevented a creation of a full gallery.
So I just deleted the galleries, and created them fresh and that fixed things.
Thanks once again.

well what I am saying is if everything had been transferred correctly and permissions set and safe mode is off our script creates any and all applicable directories.
If you have say a category with an id of 510 and you transfer the site to a new host and the data directory 510 is not transferred with all its directories you will have issues. If you transfer to a new host and do not set permissions to 777 on the data and uploads folders recursively and the user uploads directory can not be created you will have issues.
Hand doing stuff is never the answer it is all about getting to the root of what the issue is. Obviously your not telling me directly was missing for my answer to be right on point.
